Good Fences Make Good Neighbours
UAP collaborated with multidisciplinary artist Ai Weiwei on a major temporary public art exhibition commissioned by Public Art Fund. Covering multiple locations across all five boroughs of New York City, Ai Weiwei’s Good Fences Make Good Neighbours uses the fence as a metaphor to generate a powerful commentary on the issues of immigration, division and separation. UAP worked with Public Art Fund and the artist to develop and fabricate works that transform some of New York’s famous architectural landmarks into large-scale public art installations.
Ai Weiwei is an award-winning contemporary artist and political activist. He is considered as one of the leading cultural figures of his generation and is internationally acclaimed for his thoughtful and meaningful explorations of urgent social issues. UAP is honoured to have worked with Ai Weiwei together with Public Art Fund, the world’s most pre-eminent commissioners of free public art installations. Ai Weiwei: Good Fences Make Good Neighbours will be on view October 12, 2017 – February 11, 2018 at sites throughout New York City.
