#Jem Play

SINGAPORE

This inviting and engaging water play was designed, fabricated and delivered by UAP for Jem, Singapore’s third largest suburban mall developed by Lend Lease and designed by SAA Architects. The concept for Jem Play was inspired by the Singaporean children’s story The Island of Singapore in which two mermaids are changed into mudskippers after straying from the kingdom’s borders.

Mudskippers, sea rocks and other marine life are transformed into brightly coloured play elements inviting children to activate their imaginations while making connections to a playful underwater world. The playscape was designed as part of Jem’s 100% green replacement strategy, in which every green space occupied by the mall is returned back to the community in an alternate form.
