Fox Delivering Messages draws inspiration from the enigmatic Yokai and Obake, shape-shifting beings renowned in Japanese tradition. This 3ft tall sculpture captures the duality of the fox, embodying both the roles of guardian and trickster. With a playful twist, Miki engages viewers in a dialogue about transformation, curiosity, and the multifaceted nature of existence. Installed at Anderson Ranch in Snowmass Village, Colorado, this work transforms the gallery space into an interactive environment.

The collaboration between our team, Miki, and Jessica Silverman is a testament to the dedication required to bring this vision to life. Crafted at the Rock Tavern foundry using a lost-wax casting process, each element of the sculpture has been thoughtfully translated from Miki’s imagination into tangible form. The PMMA patterns were expertly cast in silicon bronze, and the final assembly features exquisite hand-finishing that enhances the piece's whimsical charm. A custom cupric patina completes the sculpture, creating a stunning visual effect that draws viewers in.
