#Eastland Melbourne

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

QIC, Probuild, Inhabit and The Buchan Group collaborated with UAP to fabricate and install this iconic entrance feature, designed by ACME for Eastland in Melbourne, Australia. The striking 24m x 12m steel roof structure, uniquely named ‘The Shard’, was fabricated in our Australian workshop and cantilevered to create the effect of a floating ceiling rising out of the ground plane of the Town Square.

The complex, compound curves were achieved by creating prefabricated aluminium sections that connect to the base structure and create the unique flowing form. The Shard’s striking form draws people into the mall and is the main transitioning point for visitors to Eastland and its new Town Square.
