#Adhaz Parw Ngoedhe Buk

Alick Tipoti has the traditional name ‘Zugab’. His ancestral roots are on Mabuaig Island, in the Torres Straits, and his artwork reflects the physical and spiritual worlds of his homeland.

Tipoti’s work Adhaz Parw Ngoedhe Buk is a dance mask that was inspired by a traditional Torres Strait Island mask held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Tipoti worked with UAP to construct this mask from weathered steel.

Alick Tipoti is represented by the Australian Art Print Network.
