#Da Vinci Horse

MILAN, ITALY

In 1997, the Leonardo Da Vinci Horse Inc. partnered with Tallix Art Foundry and sculptor Nina Akamu to bring to life a horse sculpture originally envisioned by Leonardo Da Vinci in 1482. To capture the original sculptor’s vision, Akamu conducted extensive research, delving into Da Vinci's notes, drawings, and various other influences on his work, while exploring Iberian horse breeds like the Andalusian that were prominent in the late 15th century.

From Akamu's design, two full-scale casts were produced, with the primary sculpture titled The Horse being installed at the Hippodrome of San Siro in Milan. This remarkable work was unveiled on 10 September 1999, celebrating the fusion of historical artistry and modern craftsmanship.
