#Hart
BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA
Collaborative artists James and Eleanor Avery created, Hart, a suspended artwork as the central focal point in the M+A laneway, leading pedestrians through the space and provoking the feeling of an urban lounge room.
The artists describe the work as a reinterpretation of a decorative deer’s head, complete with antlers and an ornamental moulding ‘ceiling rose’ inspired by natural forms.
The deer sits upside down from the ‘ceiling’ in a playful twist on the original wall based format. The deer transforms the laneway space from a modern urban environment into a more intimate living room space.
