#Monumental Moments - The Hug

NEW YORK CITY, USA

Cuban-American contemporary artist Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada is known for his large-scale artworks that raise awareness of environmental and social issues. In 2021, Rodriguez-Gerada partnered with Neurocrine Biosciences to create Monumental Moments – The Hug, which is installed outside the Lincoln Centre in New York City.

The 10-foot-tall bronze sculpture immortalises and celebrates the human spirit and resilience of all who have been impacted by the social distancing and challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unveiled ahead of World Mental Health Day, this work recognises the importance of connecting, supporting and touch. UAP’s North American team worked closely with the artist to create this incredible work.
