Madeleine Brown

Commissioned to mark the 100th anniversary of the Sisters of Mercy at the Mater Hospital, artist Madeleine Brown’s Embrace reflects the Mercy ideal of embracing all who need care regardless of wealth, race or gender. Brown interweaves the names of the sisters into the artwork, creating a delicate and engaging work.

Placement of the elements draws and encircles the viewer, inviting contemplation and reflection. The detailed laser cut form facilitates touch and exploration.
