#Epic 8000

SAN FRANCISCO, USA

Nike Savvas has captivated the public with her thoughtful site responsive installation for the Nike flagship store in San Francisco. 7,380 solid glass balls were produced by UAP and installed in San Francisco. Nike’s ethereal work references the marathon world record with each glass ball representing a second of marathon time.

Occupying a space of approximately 9.5 metres long, 4 metres high and 3.5 metres deep, the exact positioning of the glass balls allow vector lines to be visually traced through the work, imitating movement and speed. Epic 8000 uses solid glass spheres to employ a visual drama made possible with the multiple floors of the site offering the viewer a
variety of readings.
