#Find Our Happiness

ZHONGSHAN, CHINA

Japanese artist Motoka Watanabe is known for his playful and bold sculptures that can be found in galleries, parks, and public spaces around the world. His 2021 work ‘Find our Happiness’, was created for the entrance of the Zhongshan Huafa Plaza in Zhongshan, China.

Taking on the form of an ape holding binoculars, ‘Find Your Happiness’ invites visitors to help search for a series of smaller sculptural “fruits” hidden around the commercial centre. Created in UAP’s Shanghai’s workshop the 5.8m tall sculpture was made using panel beaten aluminium. The bright red binoculars feature fibre optic lights within the infinite mirror lenses.

UAP’s Shanghai team worked with Zhongshan Huafa and the artist to curate, design assist and create this incredible work.
